Police Make Arrest In Year-Old Double Murder Case

MIAMI (CBS4) – Miami police said Thursday that they had made an arrest in a nearly year-old case in which two men were gunned down following a fight at a Hialeah strip club.

Police said thanks to an anonymous tip they were able to track down 25-year-old Jose Adonis Martinez who now faces two counts of first-degree murder.

Last year, family members of the two victims — Franco Rodriguez, 39, and 32-year-old Manuel Suarez – made a public plea asking for help tracking down the killer.

On the morning on November 22nd, 2009, police say Rodriguez and Suarez were at a strip club known as PT’s Show Club, located off the Palmetto Expressway near Northwest 103rd Street.

Family members at the time said Rodriguez and Suarez had gone to the club and at some point had gotten into a fight with another man or group of men.

For Rodriguez’s sister, Maggie Torres, her only hope of finding a killer was to go on camera and plea for help.

“Come forward because these monsters have destroyed our lives,” Maggie Torres told a group of assembled reporters at the Miami Police Department’s headquarters. “We’re in our 30s, and we planned a funeral for our loved one, so young, and we’re planning a funeral. He didn’t deserve this.”

His wife Michelle Rodriguez sobbed violently as Maggie addressed the media.

Police say they are looking for a person of interest who goes by the name of “Big Baby.”

Police said the pair left the club the morning at 5:30 a.m. Around 6:30 a.m. a blue Chevrolet Malibu, pulled up to Rodriguez’s SUV at the intersection of Northeast 1st Avenue and 10th Street. Someone in the Malibu fired several shots into the SUV and sped off.

Police believe the pair might have been followed after they left the club.

Rodriguez, a father of five, was killed. Suarez was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition; he later died of his injuries.

“My brother was awesome, a great father of five children. This is really rough. He was a great man. They were just out for a good time. In the worst way, it’s a sad situation. They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I would just like to see justice served,” said Rodriguez’s brother, Herman Torres.

One witness who identified himself as “Demetrius” said he was having breakfast at a shelter when he heard the shots that were fired. “It was early this morning. All of us heard it.”

MIRAMAR (CBS4) – The Dania Beach man charged with two counts of murder told officers he stabbed his ex-girlfriend and another man to death after he entered her apartment and found the pair having sex, a police report says.

Edwin “Eddie” Maldonado, 52, was arrested in the Pompano Beach area and charged with two counts of murder, according to Miramar Police.

He’s accused of killing his ex-girlfriend Joann Beaudoin, 44, and another man, Bryan Bennett, 51. Both victims were found stabbed to death inside an apartment at 2001 SW 64th Avenue on Thursday morning.

Jealousy appears to have been the motive for the killings.

MIRAMAR (CBS4) – Maldonado was immediately named a person of interest in the case when friends said Beaudoin got into an argument with Maldonado at a bar on Wednesday night; the night before the two bodies were found by a friend who went to the apartment to check on her.

Apparently Beaudoin had concerns about her ex-boyfriend. On November 30th, she went to court in Broward for a domestic violence hearing in reference to a restraining order against Maldonado.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A southwest Miami-Dade man who reportedly stabbed his girlfriend and her daughter to death has been ordered to be held without bond.

Exildo Mastrapa, 43, made his first appearance in bond court on Thursday.

Just after 8 pm. on Saturday, Mastrapa called 911 and told the emergency operation that he had just stabbed the women and himself inside an apartment at 15590 SW 106th Lane. When officers arrived they found the front door of the apartment open and Mastrapa sitting in the bathroom with a knife impaled in his chest. HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – On Friday afternoon, the imposing Broward Crime Scene Unit van was still on the scene of a double murder that claimed the lives of an elderly couple.

Hallandale Beach police said David Pichosky, 71, and Rochelle Wise, 66, were found dead in a Venetian Park condo on the 900 block of Northeast 25th Street.

Police said they suspect foul play was involved and their deaths are being investigated as a double homicide.

The couple was retired from Canada. They were snowbirds and very involved in their local temple.

“It’s very crazy,” neighbor France Chouinard said through tears. She lives directly next door to the crime scene but didn’t hear or see anything out of the ordinary. “That’s bad, very bad! I’m afraid, I’m very afraid.”

Chouinard said she noticed when Pichosky, whom many called “Donny”, didn’t pick up his newspaper that morning.

“I see him Wednesday morning and I said ‘Hello Donny, Happy New Year.’ That’s the last time I see him,” Chouinard told CBS 4’s Lauren Pastrana.

A friend, also in town from Toronto, is shocked something like this could happen here. He did not want to give his name.

“It’s something I never experienced. I love your country, but it leaves a lot to be desired,” the man said.

It’s not known how long their bodies were inside the condo.

A neighbor who hadn’t seen them in a while decided to check on them Thursday and discovered their bodies.

People in the eastern Hallandale Beach neighborhood, which lies near the Intracoastal, were stunned a double murder happened in their close-knit community.

“There’s never been anything like that here,” said neighbor Vicky Laguna.

“I’m devastated. I can’t believe it. I’m really shocked. It’s awful,” said neighbor Camille Consiglio.

BSO investigators are still working to gain more information.

They went door-to-door Friday asking people for clues that could lead to the killer.

“Did we see anybody different or new in the community? Any cars? Nothing that I know of that’s different than before,” Gloria Gross said. Gross said her dog sniffed around the couple’s home Thursday, but she assumed there was another dog inside.

Friends and neighbors in Canada said Pichosky was a businessman and volunteer and Wise was a retired educator.

“She was such a caring, approachable person,” Marcy Pencer said. “We’re all just a little bit in shock right now.”

The school were Wise was once the Vice Principal in Canada sent a letter home with students expressing their sympathy to the victims’ families.

Anyone with information is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.

BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) – A father killed his two sons, despite their mother’s pleas to take her life instead, police said Saturday morning.

He then shot and killed himself.

Shortly before 2 a.m., Victoria Flores Zavala, 36, was watching TV when she heard noise in her home in the 400 block of Southwest Eighth Avenue, police said.

That’s when she found her estranged husband, Isidro Zavala, 45, choking one of the boys, police said.

The mother tried to fight him off and begged Isidro Zavala kill her instead.

After killing their sons, he then told his wife he wanted her to suffer.

“During statement with the wife there is a comment made. She said ‘Why don’t you kill me’ and he said ‘No, you’re going to live with this’,” said Boynton Beach police Detective Chris Crawford.

The boys were identified as Eduardo Zavala, 12, and Mario Zavala, 11.

When police arrived on scene, they found one child dead in a back screened patio area and his deceased brother in the kitchen dining room area.

Isidro Zavala killed himself with a gun and was discovered dead in the kitchen.

Mariano Batalla, a friend of Zavala, said he was stunned when he heard the news.

“He’s always happy. He’s an amazing man. That’s why I don’t believe how he killed himself I don’t believe that,” said Batalla.

“I feel sad. I don’t know why the dad did this. I don’t know what the kids did to him. When I heard about it, I started to cry because they were my friends,” said neighbor Billege Alcin.

Detectives have obtained a search warrant for the house where the killings occurred as well as a home in the 1100 block of Southeast Third Street where Isidro Zavala had been staying.

The Zavalas have a 19-year-old son who does not live with his family and was not at the home when the killings occurred, police said.

Hernandez Denied Bond; Investigated For 2012 Double Murder

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (CBSMiami) – Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was denied bail again Thursday on first-degree murder charges for the death of Odin Lloyd. As the second bail hearing was underway, new details about a double-murder from last year may implicate Hernandez again.

Hernandez’s second court appearance ended the same way his first did with the former NFL star being sent back to jail. Superior Court Judge Renee Dupuis said the case against Hernandez sounded strong and that she does not think Hernandez should be released on bail.

The prosecution also intimated Thursday that Hernandez may have been photographed with a Glock .45 that could be the murder weapon. Prosecutors also said a condominium leased by Hernandez was searched Wednesday and evidence inside included ammunition the same caliber as the ammo found at the murder scene along with other ammunition.

“There was a photo that was shown on the Internet of the defendant holding a Glock .45,” prosecutor William McCauley said, according to profootballtalk.com. “That Glock — there’s good reason to believe the firearm that killed Mr. Lloyd was a Glock because the Glock has a rifling system that is different than most firearms.”

It was during this time the Boston Globe dropped a bombshell report.

An investigation was underway into a possible link between Hernandez and a 2012 double murder. The Globe reported that Lloyd may have had information implicating Hernandez in the 2012 crime.

“The motive might have been that the victim knew [Hernandez] might have been involved,” one of the officials involved in the 2012 case told the Globe.

CNN also reported late Thursday the Boston Police Department located and impounded a Silver SUV with Rhode Island registration that may be connected with the 2012 double murder. Investigators believe that Hernandez was renting the SUV at the time of those killings, the source told CNN.

Officially, the NFL has remained conspicuously quiet about Hernandez. The league has acted on personal conduct issues in the past before a conviction was handed down, but so far the league has not made any move regarding Hernandez’s status, which is the least of his concerns.

CNN also reported Hernandez was showing “no apparent nervousness” in jail and was described by the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office as a “model inmate.”

Warrant: Friend Told Police Aaron Hernandez Confessed To Murder

MIRAMAR (CBS4) –Ernest Wallace, suspected of playing a role in the high-profile murder case that ensnared a former NFL star allegedly told a suspected co-conspirator that Aaron Hernandez was responsible for the murder of Odin Lloyd in Massachusetts last month.

The detail is included in a search warrant filed by the Miramar Police Department at the Broward County Courthouse Tuesday. The warrant was used last month to search the home of Wallace’s mother, just after Wallace turned himself in to authorities on a charge of accessory after the fact in Lloyd’s death.

In the warrant, much of the information comes from Carlos Ortiz, a third suspect in the case, who told police specific information about the early morning hours of June 17 when Ortiz says he, Hernandez and Wallace picked up Lloyd at his home.

The warrant says Ortiz told police, “Mr. Wallace told him that Mr. Hernandez admitted to shooting Mr. Lloyd.” Hernandez, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, is being held in jail on a charge of murder.

Ortiz told police what he heard during the car ride to Hernandez’s neighborhood.

“Mr. Ortiz explained that during the drive back to North Attleboro, he overheard Mr. Hernandez state directly to Mr. Lloyd that he (Mr. Lloyd) was “chilling” with people that he (Mr. Hernandez) had problems with. Mr. Ortiz explained that Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Lloyd made up by “shaking hands” and added that “it” was squashed,” the warrant reads.

Ortiz told police he fell asleep shortly after and “he awoke when the vehicle stopped and observed Mr. Hernandez, Mr. Wallace and Mr. Lloyd exit the vehicle to urinate. Mr. Ortiz explained that he then heard gunshots. He added that Mr. Hernandez and Mr. Wallace got back into the vehicle without Mr. Lloyd and the vehicle fled.”

The warrant reveals that Ortiz says he could not tell who fired the fatal shots because it was dark in the industrial area where Lloyd’s body was found. The search warrant says that surveillance video from Hernandez’s home shows Hernandez, Wallace and Ortiz returning to the home after Lloyd’s murder with the men “holding what appears to be a handgun.”

The search warrant says that “Mr. LLoyd had communication with two telephone numbers, which investigators were later able to identify as belonging to Mr. Hernandez and Ernest Wallace in the hours before his death.”

As police in Massachusetts began to piece the details together and suspicion fell on Wallace, they interviewed a woman connected to Wallace who told police where she thought Wallace would go.

“She stated that he would go to his mom’s house in Florida and that his mom would hide and protect him,” the woman told detectives, according to the search warrant.

No one answered the door at the Wallace family home Tuesday. Late last month, CBS 4 cameras rolled as Miramar Police served a search warrant at the home.

The warrant reveals that police recovered clothes, a backpack and a couple of cell phones but no guns.

Wallace was extradited from Broward last week and appeared in a Massachusetts courtroom Monday. He pleaded not guilty, was ordered held without bail and will be back in court later this month.

In search warrants released in Massachusetts Tuesday, the documents also say that while investigating Lloyd’s killing, police did searches in Hernandez’s hometown, Bristol, Conn., that turned up a vehicle wanted in connection with a July 2012 double homicide in Boston. Police said the vehicle had been rented in Hernandez’s name.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in Lloyd’s killing. His legal team did not return email messages Tuesday.

Eight search warrants were unsealed in Massachusetts after news organizations sought access to the records. The warrants reveal the breadth of the investigation, with authorities scouring through everything from Hernandez’s house to his phone to the contents of his team locker, which the Patriots emptied into a container after they released him.

Police seized a rifle and ammunition found in Hernandez’s home.

According to the documents, Hernandez became “argumentative” during his first encounter with police at his home following Lloyd’s death. He asked, “What’s with all the questions?” and locked the door behind him.
He then returned with his attorney’s business card but didn’t respond when police told him they were investigating a death.

“Mr. Hernandez slammed the door and re-locked it behind him,” the records read. “Mr. Hernandez did not ask officers whose death was being investigated. Mr. Hernandez’s demeanor did not indicate any concern for the death of any person.”

Hernandez came out later and agreed to be questioned at a police station, according to the documents.

The documents also say Hernandez called his girlfriend’s cellphone and stopped her from speaking with police after they pulled her over and told her Lloyd was dead.

Family Of Murdered Pastor And Grandson Look For Answers

MIAMI GARDENS (CBS Miami) – “My nephew laid here,” said Pastor Virgil Walker, as he pointed to the spot in a back room where TJ Walker and his 70-year-old grandmother were found murdered, Monday.

They spent their final, terrifying moments, bound on a floor next to each other, then they were shot multiple times.

“Ii’m going to show you this, the pillow case, the pillow they used to muffle the sound of the gunfire,” said Pastor Walker as he pointed to the floor where down feathers were scattered all over.

Walker moved in with his grandmother in Miami Gardens three months ago.

He was in South Florida from Jacksonville for college.

His parents are wrecked by the vicious killing.

His mom Carolyn lost her only child and her mom too, but she finds comfort in knowing they were together.

“He was her baby, he was her baby,” said TJ’s mom Carolyn Walker.

Anderson was not only TJ’s grandmother, but a retired minister.   “She wasn’t afraid,” said Carolyn.  “She was not afraid, I’m absolutely sure of that.  And I know she was comforting my son telling him, don’t be afraid and I know she tried to protect him.”

The two were last seen Saturday night between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m.

The family says there were no signs of forced entry either and the security door was always locked.  From inside, the people who live in the home can see who’s at the door, but from outside, others can’t see in.  The family believes TJ or his grandmother knew who was at the door and let them in.

Police are fanning out all over the neighborhood passing out fliers.  They need tips.

The family is hoping the killers are caught before they strike again.

“It’s almost like you’d have to be like pure evil not to feel something while you’re committing that act, preparing to commit that act or thinking about committing that act, but then to go through with it, that takes a different kind of person,” said his mom.

There’s a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $3000 in this case.  If you have information, call (305) 471-TIPS.

Community Remembers Slain Miami Gardens Grandmother & Grandson

MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) – Family and friends plan to gather, Friday night, to remember a grandson and grandmother murdered inside the home they shared.

The family says both were found inside their home Tuesday bound with duct tape and shot.

Twenty-year-old TJ walker was a college student who moved to Miami Gardens from Jacksonville three months ago. He was living with his grandmother while attending classes.

Seventy-year-old Annette Anderson was a retired minister known for her community outreach and spiritual guidance.

“It was a vicious type of execution 70-years-of-age that you actually bound her up and shoot her multiple times and also shoot my nephew multiple times,” said Virgil Walker.

Carolyn Walker lost her only son and her mother, but takes some comfort knowing the two spent their final moments together.

“She wasn’t there alone and he wasn’t there alone they were together; she wasn’t afraid she was not afraid I’m absolutely sure of that and I know she was comforting my son and telling him do not be afraid,” said Carolyn.

Police passed out fliers in the neighborhood looking for any information on the killings.

The family said no signs of forced entry to the house could be found and speculated either TJ or his grandmother knew whoever was at the door and opened it.

“It’s almost like you have to be just pure evil not to feel something while you’re committing that act preparing to commit that act or thinking about committing that act but then to go through with it that takes a different kind of person,” said Walker.

Double Murder Sparks A Day Of Chaos

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked a day of terror that ended with a total of four people dead after a shooting, police chase, car crash, and police standoff Wednesday morning.

“I was sleeping and I heard some shots. looked out the window and the ambulance was already here,” said neighbor Mario Monfort. “The daughter, she was all covered with blood.”

The initial call came in around 9:45 a.m. saying that a man, identified as Antonio Feliu, 48, shot two women during a domestic dispute on the 12000 block of 190th Street in South Miami Heights.

Miami-Dade Police said the shooting happened when a man opened fire on a mother and her daughter.

“Once officers responded to that scene, that’s when they discovered the two females that were suffering from apparent gunshot wounds,” Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said.

Vivian Gallego Martinez was shot in the head and died in her home. Her daughter, 28-year-old Anabel Benitez was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center where she also died.

News of Benitez’s death quickly spread to Paraiso Restaurant, where she worked as a delivery driver.

Her coworkers said they sensed something was wrong when Benitez did not show up for her 11am shift and did not return several phone calls.

“Anabel is very nice, good people,” co-worker Belsis Cuesta said. “(She’s) very special. Everyday working.”

Distraught relatives and friends showed up at the home throughout the day Wednesday trying to figure out what happened.

Police identified the shooter as Gallego Martinez’s estranged boyfriend, Antonio Feliu.

Investigators will look into the status of the relationship in hopes of sorting out the events that led up to the shooting which set off the chase that ended in a deadly crash more  than 30 miles away.

“It’s been a long day, a tragic day,” Det. Zabaleta said. “A lot of families that are mourning at this point.”

A crime-scene clean-up crew was at the home until late Wednesday night trying to wash away any trace of the violence that occurred inside.

Neighbors were stunned that something so violent could happen right next door.

“I’m thinking about how sad it is. How disturbing because it’s normally quiet over here,” said  Carla Woodson. “Just upsetting to know what’s going on, it’s sad.”

Unfortunately Feliu not only took the lives of Martinez and Benitez, but while fleeing from police, the suspect hit 48-year-old Maritza Medina’s car. Medina, from Pembroke Pines, died on the scene.

Medina’s family and friends consoled each other Wednesday at her home.

Neighbors believe Medina, a wife and mother, was returning home from dropping one of her daughters off at school. They also said that the Town of Southwest Ranches put up gates on several streets near Medina’s home that prevented her from taking a more direct route to her house.

Neighbors say that is the only reason Medina drove on US 27 Wednesday morning.

“If Southwest Ranches hadn’t closed (SW) 199th (Avenue), 202 (Avenue) and 205 (Avenue) , she would have never taken that path,” said neighbor Frank Crandon. “We believe US 27 is a deathtrap to anyone that goes there.”

It was the place where Maritza Medina died Wednesday — a loss to her family and community.

“Wonderful lady, wonderful lady,” said Crandon. “Husband Diego. Good neighbor. Quiet lady, very sincere and this didn’t have to happen today.”

The below video is raw, unedited video of the chase and crash.

MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Investigators had hoped to find clues inside Antonio Feliu’s West Miami-Dade home that could explain why he shot and killed two women before leading officers on a deadly, two-county chase.

Instead, they discovered a fully hydroponics lab at the one-story house along Southwest 100th Avenue at 20th Street, Miami-Dade Police officials said Thursday.

Narcotics investigators seized 43 marijuana plants with a street value of approximately $107,500, police said.

Neighbors along Feliu’s quiet street said they had no idea what he was up to.

“From the crash yesterday where it happened way out there in Griffin Road to find out the man who is now deceased was renting here, 2 blocks from where I live, it’s unreal,” Roland Mas said.

Mas did not know Feliu.

Neither did Arnold Rafuls.

Rafuls said the neighborhood is typically quiet, but he wasn’t surprised to learn of the grow house discovery.

“Nobody is secure here,” Rafuls said. “You don’t know what’s going to happen from one minute to another. Innocent people are dying.”

Maritza Medina, 48, died when Feliu’s SUV t-boned her sedan at the intersection of US 27 and Griffin Road as he led cops on a high-speed chase.

BSO Deputy John Kelly, BSO Sgt. John Rodriguez and Miami-Dade Police Officer Jonathan Dweck tried to save her life, but it was too alte.

“I’ve been doing this for 23 years and this ranks right up there as one of the most horrific scenes,” Deputy John Kelly said.

As police approached the Feliu’s SUV with their guns drawn, they quickly retreated as shots were fired from inside the vehicle.

Officers from Miami-Dade police, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Davie police and Pembroke Pines police were involved in the stand-off.

At 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, the SWAT team members from Miami-Dade, BSO, Pembroke Pines and Davie moved in, surrounded the vehicle, looked in the windows and then opened the driver’s side door. Inside, they found the body of Feliu. Police said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

More than 30 miles away in South Miami Heights, officers entered another horrific scene.

Vivian Gallego Martinez, 51, and her daughter Anabel Benitez, 28, were found shot inside their efficiency apartment.

Neither mother nor daughter survived.

On Thursday, distraught loved ones cleared out the home.

“It’s been hard,” family friend Boris Anoceto said. “Great mother, great daughter. Beautiful the relationship they had.”

But Gallego-Martinez’s relationship with estranged boyfriend Feliu remains a mystery to many, as does Feliu’s motive for murder.

DEERFIELD BEACH (CBSMiami) – The Broward Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests in connection with the double murder of an elderly couple earlier this week in Deerfield Beach, and both suspects have allegedly confessed to the crimes.

BSO said the suspected killers are Rosario Melici, 60, and Michael Marotta, 38. Melici was taken into custody in Lake Worth without incident around 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The men faces two counts of first degree murder.

The couple was “targeted” by someone who knew them, according to Broward Sheriff Scott Israel.

“I can tell you it was not a random act of violence, this heinous and reprehensible crime,” said Sheriff Israel.”The Russo’s were targeted.”

The bodies of 88-year-old Phil Russo and his 78-year-old wife Barbara were found by their daughter in their Deerfield Beach Condo in the Deer Creek Country Club on Monday.

According to the probable cause report, “both victims appeared to be bound and had items over their heads and mouths. One of the items found on both victims’ bodies was ‘blue painter’s tape.’ Due to the large amount of blood around each victim’s body, it appeared that they had been shot or stabbed.”

The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that both victims had been stabbed to death.

BSO said that Melici came to the Russo’s apartment unannounced a few days before the murder and “offered to paint the victims’ apartment for free.”

Williams told BSO that “Melici had a violent criminal past and had been in jail in the past for murder.”

When detectives caught up with Melici in Lake Worth, he said he knew both victims, but deniedh e had seen them in “at least a month.” Detectives traced Melici’s phone and found it was using a Deerfield Beach tower at the time of the murder.

BSO said Melici admitted to taking part in the murder and robbery of both victims and that he was with Marotta during the crimes.

Marotta also admitted post-Miranda that he was involved with the crimes as well.

Friends and neighbors at the Deer Creek Country Club Condos were stunned over the couple’s death and very uneasy because investigators suspected foul play.

“These things upset me,” said friend Evelyn Appelbaum, adding, “especially when you hear it could be a homicide. I mean who, why? I can’t understand that kind of anger.”

Both suspects remain in the Broward County Jail.

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — A man accused in the double murder of his ex-wife and stepfather in Miami is scheduled to go before a Miami-Dade judge this week.

U.S. Marshals brought 56-year-old Hugo Quesada from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Miami last week. Quesada was arrested in Argentina in 2006 and had been fighting extradition ever since. An Argentine court finally approved the extradition in August.

Quesada is charged with the 2003 strangulation deaths of his ex-wife, Maritza Quesada, and her stepfather, Emilio Xiques. Police also say he stabbed his ex-wife’s mother, who survived. Authorities say there was a dispute over Quesada’s desire to take the couple’s children to Argentina.

HALLANDALE BEACH (CBSMiami) – Nearly one year after the bodies of Canadian snowbirds David Pichosky and Rochelle Wise were found in a Hallandale beach condo, police have released new information in the unsolved murders.

Wednesday morning, police held a news conference on the double homicide and revealed that the DNA of two women was found at the scene of the murder.

In addition, police released a photo of the style of shoe that left a shoe print which belonged to one of the suspects.

The DNA doesn’t match either Pichosky or Wise, and it doesn’t match anyone in U.S. or Canadian law enforcement databases, said Hallandale Beach Police Chief Dwayne Flourney.

Police also released a picture of the only thing missing from the couple’s condo; Wise’s $16-thousand diamond wedding ring.

Wise and Pichosky were found asphyxiated inside their Hallandale Beach winter home on Jan. 10, 2013. They were also found bound, said Flournoy.

Police said they do believe robbery was the motive.

Family members of the murdered couple joined police at Wednesday’s news conference and begged for the public’s help.

Sari Rosenblum, the daughter of Donny Pichosky said, “He was my dad and you only get one father. And mine was taken from me. Everyday is a nightmare. We have no closure and no peace.”

Part of the case also involves a person seen on a neighbor’s video surveillance system. A woman was spotted walking near the couple’s home the day before their bodies were found. On the tape the woman is carrying an item and walks to the rear of the residence near the Intracoastal Waterway. The woman then walked back to the front/side area empty handed. Police have not been able to identify her.

On the day they died, police said the couple was expected to meet neighbors for lunch but never showed up. The concerned neighbors used a spare key to check the home and found the couple inside.

There’s a $57,000 reward for any information about this case. If you know anything, call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
